Educational program coordinator
The program coordinator* will develop environmental education programs for school-aged youth in line with the organisation’s vision and mission. This includes defining objectives, creating materials, and developing learning activities. The coordinator may also deliver programs to children and youth and assist with training of volunteers.
The employee will be mentored one on one by the Curriculum director of UrbaNature in weekly meetings (either in-person or virtual). à
The employee will gain experience in developing environmental educational programs in an urban setting, will learning about nature-based education in schools and in the community, and will gain knowledge about the urban natural environment. He or she would be exposed to the current trends in nature-based education, thus improving their chances of employment in teaching jobs both in schools and in outdoor centres. The programs developed as part of this mandate could be included in a teaching portfolio.
This is a part-time position (21 hours per week) for 12 weeks starting May 25. The salary is $13.5o per hour. The employee must have a computer and stable internet access, as the job will be completed remotely except for when programs are run. Work hours are flexible.
*Please note that this position is available to people eligible to work in Canada, between the ages of 15-30, according to the Canada Summer Jobs agreement.
